At the beginning of the 21st century, YOFC management predicted that China would advance into the era of FTTH. Thus, YOFC took advantage of the resources and the utilities in many ways to implement the first FTTH project in China successfully. Meanwhile, a complete set of "FTTH total solution" has been worked out according to the actual situations in China, which consists of the following three parts:

1. Solution for basic business including broadband, voice and CATV services.
2. Solution for value-added business including value-added video service intelligent communities.
3. Solution for PON construction including communities with buildings and villas, construction standards and etc.

At present, the solution has been widely adopted in FTTH sample projects of China Telecom, China Netcom and China Mobile, which has been well received and awarded "One of the Hundred Successful Solutions for Chinese Communication Industry in Year 2005" by Journal "Communication World".

Many new cable techniques with granted patents and switch boxes have been employed in the solution for PON construction. This solution has been widely adopted in FTTH sample projects of Wuhan Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Zhejiang Telecom, Jiangsu Telecom, Shanxi Mobile, Hebei Netcom, Guizhou Netcom, Yunnan Telecom since it is economical, flexible, effective and easy for maintenance. The solution has been regarded as a standard for further promotion.

In the sample projects of China Netcom in Hebei and Guiyang, the total solution from YOFC has been widely used in the construction of luxury villas together with "FTTH Multi-business Technical Solution" (YOFC's Patent), which not only promotes the construction of information communities but also greatly increases the value of the villas.

In Oct. 2006, YOFC made investment with other companies to establish Wuhan Yangtze Optical Technology Co., Ltd. (YOTC) and transferred relevant technical solutions to YOTC, in order to promote FTTH business development in China.
